Meet the team: Karl, Back-End Developer

Karl studied computer science at the University of Klagenfurt, where he also worked as an university assistant. In 2013 he joined Goalify as a senior developer and is the very first employee of the company.

What are your tasks and responsibilities at Goalify? How does your typical day look like?

I am mainly responsible for the server component. This includes the implementation of new features as well as the maintenance of existing infrastructure. Additionally, I developed the adminstraton client and many test and debugging tools that are not visible for the user. In general my day involves a lot of development work (drafting, developing and testing) and a couple of meetings.

What is your favourite feature of Goalify?

My favourite feature is the dashboard, where I can keep track of the achievement and development of my goals over a longer period of time.

On what goals are you currently working on?

At the moment I have three active goals: Riding my bike at least 30km a week, going to the gym at least twice a week and drinking a minimum of 4 glasses of water every day.

Your motivation quote?

It's weird, day by day nothing seems to change, but pretty soon, everything is different. (Bill Watterson, Calvin & Hobbes)
